The North American Payroll team services the North American countries with primary oversight for payroll operations including all facets of downstream support. The overall North American Payroll organization has four main work streams; Payroll Operations, Timekeeping, Case Management and US Payroll Tax & Accounting; with a regional model of U.S. employees primarily based in Delaware and a large presence in our Bangalore shared services center.
You will be responsible for providing support to the HR Service Delivery North America Payroll Operations Business team. Your responsibilities will include processing PeopleSoft table change requests, facilitating work request meetings, maintaining status spreadsheet, documenting standard operating procedures, performing payroll lifecycle testing and validation, partnering with HRSD project management team members during acquisition activities and translating business requirements into functional specifications for system changes or new system processes. You will also act as a primary liaison to our HR Technology partners when creating business requirements and performing testing prior to implementation. You will also act as a back-up to Payroll Support and Garnishment functions as well as a point of contact for senior management requests in the absence of the BA manager.
Participate in efforts with internal/external stakeholders to interpret and translate business requirements into functional specifications for system change requests. Act as the liaison to HRT during development, programming and testing of stakeholder requirements.
Participate in merger and acquisition as well as divestiture activities to ensure all Payroll Operations requirements are satisfied and implementation/divestiture is successful for clients.
Receive and review documentation for changes to tax tables, pay groups, new company set up, new earnings and deduction codes. Process to include, testing of documentation, setup of request in the system, validation of setup and monitoring of accuracy with the first payroll.
Serve as liaison to all lines of businesses with system and process interfaces into the NA Payroll Operations function. Establish and coordinate procedures with business partners with new interface requirements.
Participate in coordination of system changes and required user acceptance testing activities to bring about desired results including development of testing methodology, test scripts, validation processes and final user sign-off criteria.
Provide subject matter expertise to coordinate research and analysis activities into causes of pay cycle error events; recommend and implement approved long and short-term solutions for best practices.
You must have 3+ years recent experience with PeopleSoft HR/Payroll/Benefits.
You must have 3+ years recent experience with PeopleSoft query, SQL and SQR as a tool to analyze problems and issues.
You must possess analytical and technical skills.
You must possess project management skills and systems experience to effectively bring about change by incorporating system enhancements and development of new processes.
You must have the ability to quickly absorb product knowledge, process information and apply appropriately to meet client’s needs
You should demonstrate excellent customer service and organizational skills
You must demonstrate the ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with changing initiatives.
Experience with building test cases based on requirement documentation
Experience with executing test cases and documenting defects, using a tool such as ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) is preferred
You can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management
You must have experience with organizing and leading meetings, both in-person and via tele-conference
You must have experience with advanced PC skills, including MS Windows & Office Suite (i.e., proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
You must demonstrate initiative, be a self starter, fast learner, and team player
You will have 6+ years of payroll experience in a high volume environment.
