SCAD seeks a full-time director for international student services to oversee a team of advisers on all facets of international student life, including visa compliance, at the university’s Savannah location.
As a director, you will develop, implement, and maintain procedures for university-wide SEVIS alignment; interpret U.S. immigration laws related to F-1 non-immigrant status for international students, their dependents, and other family members; and counsel students on maintaining their status. You will oversee all aspects of SEVIS reporting requirements as the designated school official (DSO), including TerraDotta services, change of non-immigrant status, travel abroad and re-entry signatures, and more. You will also oversee the quarterly batch processing registration of SEVIS F-1 files to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and fulfill other SEVIS-related responsibilities.
In this position, you will develop and conduct quarterly orientation programs in tandem with ESL, assist international students with the filing of their taxes, coordinate with SCAD payroll office to conduct annual tax workshops for students, and support international students with the social security application process. You will also plan and implement all cultural student programming related to the SCAD Cultural and Academic Preparation Program, advise various cultural and international student clubs, collaborate with the office of counseling and student support services, and stay abreast of changes in all laws and administrative procedures regarding DHS and other relevant agencies as they affect international students.
