Overview

Position Summary (Job Description):
Repairs and maintains (in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications) machinery and mechanical equipment. Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operations to locate causes of trouble. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Repairs or replaces defective parts. Lubricates and cleans parts. Repairs and replaces electrical components and equipment. Repairs walls, ceilings, doors and wall coverings as well as paint. Conducts preventive maintenance programs on appropriate machinery and equipment that adhere to Silliker standards. Performs plumbing, light carpentry work, HVAC and welding. Performs other related duties as may be necessary.

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and Maintenance Mechanic A, is responsible for maintaining and ensuring that all day to day maintenance schedules are being completed on a timely basis. Understands and make certain that all quality, sanitation and safety procedures are adhered to. Operates all equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Recommend equipment revisions.

5% Welding (trailers, racks, forklifts, etc.)

5% Maintenance inspections (temperature checks, sprinkler, alarm system, units, fire extinguishers, etc.)

25% General repairs on equipment (racks, load locks)

5% General electrical (troubleshooting problems and wiring battery chargers)

5% General plumbing (sink, o rings, etc.)

25% Painting (lines, buildings, etc.)

5% Carpentry (woodwork, i.e. deck)

25% Sanitation (Silliker standards)

5% Perform other related duties as may be necessary

Qualifications Required of this Position:
A minimum of two years of prior experience to include: AC electrical troubleshooting, welding, general plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, general carpentry and painting. Must be able to read blue prints, schematics and technical manuals. Own all tools and equipment as required by company. Must possess the initiative to train and understand all maintenance practices. Comprehensive understanding of Silliker standards.
