THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client has a long history of leveraging third-party providers globally (BPO) as part of their
operating model. They currently have 4 vendors supporting the business needs of 5 teams with
an approximate total spend of $40MM annually and they have plans to continue scaling up. Their 4
vendors currently have locations in 4 countries: Vietnam, the Philippines, Columbia, and India.
As the changing demands of their business continue to pivot and require increased flexibility to
meet changing business and commercial conditions, they are being challenged to access skills &
resources that fit their variable capacity, whilst leveraging lower operating costs combined with
higher economies of scale. As part of this journey, they are looking to take a step back and
confirm that they are engaging with the right vendors and contracts. The successful
candidate will partner with various stakeholders to align on requirements, evaluate existing and
new vendors, select a preferred panel of vendors, and negotiate contracts. They are looking to
get an expert through a third party due to lack of bandwidth and the desire to bring in expertise
in these types of deals.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience in managing a similar project and a good
understanding of best practices in this category of spend (e.g.: best in class pricing structure:
FTE based vs. performance based?, COLA/inflation language, length of agreements, etc...).
The candidate will work closely with a core group of stakeholders who have been appointed
within each of the BPO supported teams, and will partner closely with the Head of Procurement
Our client is looking for the project to start as soon as possible and are estimating that it will be a 3-6
months full-time effort. They would prefer that the payment be tied to milestones and deliverables
but this will require some additional scoping discussions to ensure that both parties are
comfortable with the terms of the engagement. The work can be performed remotely with a
willingness to travel to attend some of the key meetings in person (e.g.: kick-off meeting,
Steerco meetings, etc...).
