POSITION SUMMARY

Pinova Incorporated is currently seeking a Logistics Manager at our Brunswick, Georgia plant, a 24 hour/7 day a week production facility. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of finished product packaging and distribution at the Brunswick plant to the offsite warehouse as well as all receiving, transportation and finished product sampling to customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage all finish product shipments through Shipping and Receiving and insure shipments leave the Brunswick plant accurately per the customer order and on-time with all required customer markings, labels, packaging, etc. Proactively coordinate and communicate with Customer Service, S&OP, Production and Quality Assurance, as necessary to anticipate and minimize problems.
Coordinate all transportation pick-up and delivery schedules for packaged product in Brunswick to the offsite warehouse. Manage all bulk deliveries accurately, efficiently and on-time to support all plant shipping activities.
Insure investigation and communication of all transportation incidents is properly completed.
Manage all plant receiving activities through Shipping and Receiving. Insure that the receiving system is documented and followed and coordinate with production, maintenance, engineering, purchasing and accounting as necessary.
Position is responsible for finished product inventory accuracy and packaging quality/condition at the Brunswick site, and the offsite warehouse. Interfaces with production, S&OP, quality assurance and accounting as necessary. Assist with coordinating the moving of packaged goods from Brunswick site packaging areas to the offsite warehouse.
Insure all aspects of Shipping and Receiving are run efficiently and effectively in terms of, work scheduling (pre-shipment staging), work flow, resource allocation, etc. Manage, assign and schedule the work force as necessary to achieve the most efficient operation.
Coordinate through Shipping and Receiving and Production as necessary to manage all repackaging in order to meet shipping quality appearance requirements.
Coordinate with Production as necessary to insure the most effective and efficient drumming and packaging operation is achieved, including manpower planning, packaging scheduling and material movement.
Manage all aspects of costs associated with the Shipping and Receiving area including expense budgets, capital requirements, cost control efforts including overtime control and other cost reduction efforts.
Develop, maintain and train employees in all operating procedures and other required training as necessary to support the shipping and receiving functions.
Manage all aspects of product sample shipments to customers.
Proactively seek applications of new technology as it may apply to the logistics shipping and receiving area.
Clearly define employee skill and knowledge requirements necessary to work in the logistics shipping and receiving area and incorporate these into new hiring and training programs.
Insure that the logistics shipping and receiving “processes” are documented and supported by accurate operating procedures.
Accept total ownership for the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors working in the logistics areas of the plant.
Manage employee performance.
Promote and maintain adherence to food safety, food defense, and compliance with Food Safety Standards as directed by the Site Quality Manager.
Supervision of personnel in application of food safety principles.

REQUIREMENTS

Prefer college degree in Logistics or related field.
5+ years Supervisory or Leadership Experience
Recruiting/Interviewing/Developing/Disciplining employee experience.
5+ years’ experience with warehousing, layout and material flow, transportation (domestic trucking, overseas containers) and DOT regulations
Experienced in management of flammable liquids in containers
Experienced in dealing with customer complaint system
Experienced in advanced planning/scheduling systems
Knowledge of Food Grade GMP and requirements for compliance.
Very organized; demonstrated ability to document and maintain complicated systems.
Self-starter, able to recognize and correct problems within their area.
Experience estimating work requirements and resource needs for scheduling.
Prefer SAP experience – inventory management, requisitions, maintenance notifications.
Be proficient in computer operation and basic programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
Experience documenting work procedures and training others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
Proven solid work ethic and ability to work well with others as well as independently.
Possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
