Dielectric Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting in the completion of all dielectric testing procedures. This position is the in-the-field with face-to-face representation of C & D Electrical Technology. Responsibility will include traveling to customer sites throughout the U.S. to performed all applicable dielectric testing on the customer equipment.

Position Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Assist lead technician in OSHA/ASTM dielectric test standards of utility trucks and equipment
  • Basic test data interpretation, individual test knowledge, industry knowledge
  • Provide superior customer service
  • Maintain equipment and operated vehicle to company standards
  • Complete paperwork for each job thoroughly and accurately
  • Must be able to complete all other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have acceptable driving record
  • Must have demonstrated strong work ethic and commitment to safety
  • Knowledge of dielectric test standards and procedures
  • Must be able to interpret basic knowledge of test data
  • Experience a plus however not required; in-depth training provided
  • CDL driver license preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

This position typically works on planned and unplanned scheduled up to twelve (12) hours a day. This position is subject to a pre-employment physical/screening and employee must be able to perform the following:

  • Frequently—tasks required on a daily basis
  • Seeing (driving, equipment labels/gauges, paperwork)
  • Bending (loading and unloading customer equipment)
  • Crouching/Kneeling (handling customer owned equipment)
  • Reaching (handling customer owned equipment)
  • Lifting/Carrying (up to 40 pounds—tools and equipment)

Eye/hand coordination (use of hand tools)

  • Wrenching/repetitive wrist motion (testing customer owned equipment)
  • Standing (filling out paperwork, prep work)
  • Twisting (handling customer owned equipment)
  • Walking (1+ mile daily)
  • Exposure to electrical hazards (electrical test equipment)
  • Exposure to fumes/odors/oil (dielectric cleaning solutions)
  • Works in hot and/or cold temperatures (depending on customer site)
  • Works indoors and/or outdoors (depending on customer site)
  • Works with others (will work with customer escorts some of the time on a customer site or facility)
  • Must be able to take on individual tasks and complete correctly
  • Climbing Metal Steps (accessing utility trucks)
  • Works in cramped quarters (accessing units in tight spaces)
  • Walking on uneven or slippery surfaces (depending on customer site)
  • Works in wet conditions (depending on customer site and weather)
  • Exposure to dust/smoke (depending on customer site)
  • Exposure to noise (depending on customer site)

Salary: $30,000.00 to $45,000.00 /year

Experience:

  • Electrical: 1 year (Preferred)
