Job Overview:
The Assistant Controller manages the operation of the accounting office and night audit functions while working closely with the Controller ensuring the smooth financial operation of Spruce Peak. Essential Functions:
Oversees the operation of the accounting staff

Reviews daily deposit reconciliation and cash postings, including variances

Reviews and records all accounts payable and other disbursements

Assists with the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts

Assists with the preparation and distribution of financial reports, balance sheet schedules, fixed asset schedules, inventory preparation and supervision, and other reports

Reviews weekly payroll register for accuracy and integrity

Notifies Controller or General Manager immediately of any discrepancies or inconsistencies identified in financial, operational, or computer system controls

Assists with the annual internal and external audit process

Assists Controller and Executive Team in the preparation of the annual budget

Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information

3+ years Accounting experience required
College degree required, preferably in Accounting or a related field
Hospitality experience a plus
Experience in high volume establishments
Excellent communication skills
Technical & computer proficiency
Attention to detail
Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively
Operate effectively in stressful situations
Ability to multi-task and think critically
