KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver scientific excellence in statistical expertise to non-clinical vaccine development ensuring decision-making takes place within the parameters set by logical and quantitative scientific inference
Ensure that appropriate and efficient study designs are used in alignment with project objectives
Expert deeply involved in the continuous development of the statistical expertise and improvement of the quality and compliance of the support given by the team
Coordinate transversally within the team, the statistical planning of different deliverables expected from Non-Clinical R&D Statistics in alignment with the project development plan
Creates value by functioning in partnership with the business R&D to deliver fit for purpose approaches, enabling strategic decision making for process and disseminating right statistical approaches to ensure deliverables of GSK project portfolio
Links information relevant to a specific issue with information from the wider organisation and the external environment to develop innovative solutions
Actively contributes to create solutions and improvements beyond own area of activity, transversally within Non-Clinical R&D Statistics and with the business partners
Seeks information from the internal and external environment to understand the wider business, scientific and/or commercial context
Establish/implement solution for standardization within the team and at business partner level
Acts as a facilitator and mentor
Develops an environment of mutual confidence and co-operation among the team and with the business partners
Builds an environment that supports co-operation and cohesiveness among the work team
Listens to team members; trusts them and responds to their requests for help

Interactions with other departments within GSK vaccines (CEG, TRD, GIO, RA, QA) and GSK Pharma
Interactions with business teams at Germany, RDC Italy, RDC Belgium, RDC US, India, Netherlands
Interactions with external international partners, regulatory agencies, academic collaborators as required by the business
Function within a multisite group having team members in DE, BE, IT and US
Contributes and give his/her expert input on decisions that concern a variety of matters within own area thereby taking into account potential consequences on other areas of the business/division
Ensure that scientific questions for research objectives are defined clearly and that data collection, statistical methods and analyses are optimally designed to provide statistical evidence to answer those questions
Provide insight on the risk associate to decision
Defend statistical strategy in front of authorities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

At least a Masters Degree in Biostatistics (Statistics) OR in a Scientific Discipline with at least 3 years experience within the pharmaceutical industry
Ability to work in multidisciplinary team (task forces, working groups, team projects, some being remotely located)
Leadership capabilities within and outside the group, give guidance to non- statisticians, provide feedback, engage
Has experience with responsibility in different projects teams, working groups, internal and externally
Good oral and written communication in English including ability to explain difficult issues and situations clearly and ensures meaning is understood
