About the Job
You will be a part of the infrastructure operations team, mainly working on AWS.
Focusing on building out and managing hosted environments while utilizing automation skills.
Working closely with other infrastructure teams (DBA, Network, Infosec) to capture the requirements of their deployments.
Automating manual infrastructure operations tasks.
Documenting new deployment processes and existing infrastructure.
Resource utilization and tuning, focusing on rightsizing our applications to our infrastructure.
Supporting existing deployed environments in AWS with the goal of upgrading/transitioning both the application and the deployment process.
Work with your peers on datacenter projects and new initiatives
Availability to be on-call to respond to issues or problems that arise during non-business hours, including working off-hours to support disaster recovery test activities, required.
Ability to pass and obtain a US Security Clearance.
Working knowledge of AWS required, Azure or experience building High-Availability infrastructure preferred.
Strong understanding of AWS services (EC2, EKS, S3, IAM, VPC, ELB/ALB, RDS).
A deep understanding of Linux systems, OS and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform and Salt).
Experience with Openshift, kubernetes, docker or container technology in general a big plus.
Experience with scripting (Python, Bash) and source control (git).
Understanding of incident handling and change control process.
Ability to articulate and document implemented changes (or changes for someone else to implement).
Good understanding of security and security practices.
Good troubleshooting skills.
Calm under pressure.
If you know about the following it’s a plus
Experience with server virtualization platforms such as VMware or Openstack.
Experience with services from other public cloud providers like Azure and GCP environments and their service offerings.
