Software Engineer, Kubernetes Team

As a Lead Software Engineer on the Kubernetes team, you will deliver products that make it easy to operate large scale infrastructure in our public cloud environment. These products will facilitate deployment of software defined networking, automated security controls and other capabilities that make our cloud usage both flexible and secure. As part of a centralized development team, you will be accelerating the development of hundreds of teams across Capital One.

You will:
Serve as a senior member on an agile team to deliver high quality software

Provide technical guidance to other engineers on team

Proactively identify architectural weaknesses and provide appropriate solutions

Perform code reviews and approval of Pull Requests to ensure adherence to good software design practices and Architecture strategy intent

Participate in cross team meetings, scoping, and decision making

Participate in production issue investigation

Evangelize your team’s software across the organization to drive adoption

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or Military experience

At least 4 years of experience in software engineering using Python or go

At least 2 years of experience with containers

At least 4 years of experience with cloud computing

At least 2 years of experience with kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience with Python or go

3+ years of implementing scalable and resilient cloud applications and platform services

3+ years’ experience using Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation Template to codify infrastructure

3+ years of containerizing apps to deploy and run in Docker containers

3+ years’ experience with micro-services architecture and implementation
