TRAINING COORDINATOR

Reporting to the Library Director, a top priority for this position will be the development of system-wide staff competencies and a training plan to achieve these competencies. In addition, this position will:

Coordinate system-wide library training and staff development initiatives, covering existing and new technologies, customer service, new employee orientation, facilities management, etc.
Regularly assess training needs of the organization; develop and maintain an online catalog of available training opportunities for all staff; arrange and coordinate both on-site and online training opportunities; implement a departmental mentor/mentee program; coordinate attendance at professional conferences and other professional development opportunities; and present training programs to all staff.

Successful candidates will:
Possess knowledge of adult education principles; knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation; the ability to assess training needs and plan, develop, coordinate, conduct, monitor and evaluate training programs and activities; and the ability to train individuals or groups of people, using adult education principles, including multi-media techniques and assessment instruments.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree
3 years of work experience in training or staff development
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Spanish/English bilingual
1 year of work experience in a Library setting
Experience with MS Office products
