As an intern you will work within either our Retail Development, Workplace or Gigafactory Construction Facilities to support these initiatives. This role is available across various Tesla locations, including headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, the factory in Fremont, CA, and Gigafactory 1 in Sparks, NV. Specific project assignments and required technical aptitude will vary based on the needs of the individual hiring team
Team Overview and Responsibilities:
Is responsible for the development of new stores and service centers. They work in conjunction with the Real Estate department to review materials such as lease plans and Landlord design criteria. They are also responsible for producing design documents, presentation drawings, renderings and 3D models. In addition, they create and maintain a CAD plan of records and department libraries.
Team is responsible for architectural design, interior design, and workplace operations for Tesla’s office, research + development, and all non-manufacturing facilities. The Workplace team strives to provide facility solutions through establishment and documentation of strategic space planning, design and specification strategies, build outs of new spaces, and continuous improvements of existing spaces for all global workplace facilities.
Team is responsible for design and construction of our manufacturing facilities including Gigafactory 1. This team is not only responsible for the external but also the internal construction of all the facilities.
The Culinary Intern will support the daily function of Tesla’s Food and Beverage programs. Reporting to the Culinary Operations Manager, the Culinary Intern will assist in the development and implementation of culinary programs by providing and ensuring excellent customer service and administering food and beverage programs, services and events.
- Reaching out to building management throughout the US and initiate the streamlining of program vendors
- Fielding all general inquires and gather feedback from building managers and Tesla employees with promptness, high customer service and professionalism while escalating issues as needed
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of a growing food and beverage program, with multiple vendors
As part of the Global Workplace team, the Transportation intern supports the daily function of Tesla’s employee transportation programs and ensures all shuttles are operating with the highest levels of safety, training, maintenance, customer service, and on-time performance. With over 700 daily stops and 400 trips per day, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the efficiency and tracking of this extensive operation, including; ridership, shuttle schedules, vendor performance, routing, shift changes, fleet management, and service expectations. This position will interact with local and regional transit agencies to ensure regulatory compliance is coordinated appropriately.
The Global Security Intern will support a variety of projects within the Global Security Department. Interns will conduct policy research on a wide array of issues for staff; draft correspondence on security procedures for both internal and external use, audit existing systems and collaborate on process improvements, and participate in security operations, actions panning, and investigations work. Interns will also work on projects and problem-solving relating to several areas of the department such as Physical Security, Vendor Relations, security systems and access controls lifecycle, and general security matters. This role allows for a global perspective on Tesla’s facilities including the manufacturing sites, corporate offices, sales, delivery, and service centers. This role will be based in Fremont and reports to the Senior Manager of Global Security
Required Skills and Qualifications
3rd or 4th year Undergrad or Master Students
Currently working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in architecture, design, urban planning, criminal justice, business, finance, legal, engineering, psychology or related field based on the team you are applying for.
2+ internship, project, or work experience related to the area of expertise.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, criminal justice field or law office, business/finance corporate environment, or HR preferred.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and excellent time management skills.
Possess knowledge of AutoCAD and have basic knowledge of ADA and building codes.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and demands
Ability to problem solve and think critically
Must have a positive and curious attitude
- Ability to relocate for the duration of your internship and travel between all Bay Area office locations.
