The Quality Systems Technician will provide support to the Bell & Evans Quality Assurance department by supporting administrative needs for the food safety system. The position will maintain food safety, quality, and regulatory documents related to supplier and co-packer approval, 3rd party certifications, and internal documentation needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide support for food safety, product quality, and regulatory programs within the organization by assisting in the maintenance of department documentation.
Communicate reports on departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to key stakeholders.
Coordinate and communicate weekly Customer Complaint trend reports; identify and communicate high level trends to the appropriate personnel.
Support internal auditing needs by participating in documentation reviews.
Maintain registers of finished products, raw materials, packaging materials, processing aids, and labels for all facilities.
Maintain documentation for 3rd party certifications (SQF, PCO, EU, etc.). Work with key stakeholders at each facility to ensure documentation is accurate, relevant, and updated.
Maintain documentation for all approved suppliers and co-packers, including but not limited to, product specifications, letters of guarantee, audit certificates, etc.
Manage monthly Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Compliance topics for team member training. Communicate training needs to the appropriate personnel.
Act as SharePoint administrator for the department to ensure control of documents.
Provide support to the Quality Assurance department by participating in projects, internal and external audits, and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field and/or 1 year experience as a quality assurance professional in the food industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of USDA/FDA regulations and GFSI audit schemes.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and data analysis skills.
Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision or in a team environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
