The Director of Engineering directs single-site manufacturing operations through a team of functional managers and supervisors. It also ensures increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower, materials and machines, and is ultimately responsible employees.


  • Developing and implementing the strategic engineering roadmap including manufacturing scope, continuous improvement and innovation efforts
  • Build strategic customer relationships, with a focus on driving alignment of internal and external technology roadmaps
  • Oversight of all engineering practices: NPI, standards, change control, and quality management
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to proactively match and coordinate engineering resources and priorities to deliver needed business improvements
  • Promoting a positive development culture including: innovation, improvement, professional growth, teamwork, design excellence, and ownership.
  • Partnering across business units to resolve engineering issues and support business planning
  • Selecting, organizing, training, developing, and motivating a strong engineering team to assure high level of productivity and engagement, the best use of individual and group capabilities and appropriate career planning for all team members
  • Leading the engagement with partners in sales, manufacturing, supply chain and product to ensure resources are aligned to effectively support business strategies and reduce waste
  • Evaluating new technical developments and investments that will advance company objectives
  • Applying ideas from other industries, situations, and companies to growth and market expansion
  • Partnering with Client Delivery to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
  • Building process and partnerships throughout the product lifecycle and supply chain to ensure specifications, regulations and expectations are met and exceeded
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the President


  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in manufacturing as well as GMP
  • Must show a career track of progressive engineering leadership roles and strong customer relationships
  • Experience should include roles in developing, deploying and managing engineering processes, applications and oversight on a large scale
  • Proven oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information, gain buy in and earn commitment to actionable business strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and develop engineering teams
  • Familiarity/expertise in Lean methodologies


  • Lift, push and pull up to 75 pounds, walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Squatting, bending, kneeling, stoop and climbing (use of a ladder)
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
