The Global People Operations team strives to create and deliver a seamless and positive employee experience across the entire employee life-cycle. The Onboarding Event Specialist will be reporting to the Onboarding Program Operations Manager and will be part of Facebook's Global People Operations team. They will work to operationalize Onboarding Orientation programs that will allow us to grow and scale Facebook. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, get-things-done professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, and rapidly earn credibility and trust with all levels of the organization. They will exhibit great communication & planning skills, teamwork, motivation, and an upbeat attitude. This person will be highly organized, productive, poised, and able to thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios.

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day operations for Onboarding Orientation and other onboarding programs

  • Responsible for the oversight of all event logistics and operations management pre and during event

  • Oversee our vendor teams of coordinators executing our Onboarding Orientation program operations

  • Serve as main POC for L&D partners, facilitator, speakers, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders pre and during Onboarding Orientation

  • Partner with the L&D Onboarding team, as well as other key client partner and vendor teams to deliver on operational strategy and annual plans

  • Establish standardized program reporting to deliver insights to our Onboarding Orientation program managers

  • Manage and escalate risks and issues and collaborate with cross-functional partners on resolution

  • Make recommendations on program changes and conduct cost/benefit analysis of potential operational improvements

  • Develop and ensure standard operating procedures are in place for programs supported by the team globally

  • Work with remote staff effectively and drive consistency of global processes

  • Manage communications and inquiries from new hires and interns on groups and tickets

  • Attend and manage any day of escalations or back-up support for Onboarding Orientation

  • Project manage side projects to help support onboarding growth


  • Bachelors degree

  • 3+ years of experience in either L&D, Onboarding or HR Operations

  • 2+ years of events experience

  • Customer service, communication and cross group collaboration experience

  • Analytical and data, reporting experience

  • Project management and process improvement experience

  • Experience working across various levels of the organization

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access and Excel experience in creating macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, analytical and work books) and iWork (Keynote, Pages, Numbers)


  • Data analysis experience

  • Project Management (PMP/PMI) certification

  • Experience managing an outsourced vendor relationship

  • Salesforce, Workday and LMS experience
