The Office Nurse provides professional nursing care to clinic patients in support of the medical care directed by the physician (faculty and/or resident), the Clinical Manager and pursuant to the objectives and policies of administration. The Office Nurse can be a LPN or RN. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required. Current Indiana RegisteredNurse licensure or LPN licensure required. CPR certification and TB certification required or able to obtain within 6 months of employment date. Five years related experience preferred. Experience in an academic environment preferred. Experience in use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) required, preferably Athena. Experience with childhood immunizations a plus. Computer literacy in Microsoft Outlook and Word required. Experience with and a good understanding of Medicare/Medicaid insurance issues as it would impact the clinic and patient care. Able to demonstrate team player abilities while striving for excellence in patient care and resident education. Able to communicate effectively and respectfully with all support staff, residents, and faculty. Able to demonstrate an excellent work ethic, and strong organizational and prioritization skills. Able to be flexible and adaptable to change within the clinic, schedule, position, etc. Experience and ability to work with a diverse and multicultural community.
