**Please Note: This is not a remote position.**

This position is located in Chesterfield (St. Louis County), Missouri. Currently we have evening/night shifts available for experienced nurses (6pm – 6:30am).

The Telestroke nurse works with a multidisciplinary team to support evidence based practice with the use of established stroke protocols via the tememedicine platform. Ensures care for the stroke patient throughout the continuum.

Qualifications for the Virtual Care Center are:
Must have either a current RN Temporary Permit/RN license in the State of Missouri
Minimim of 2 years nursing experience required. Direct patient care experience of Neurology patients in an acute care setting, Adult Med/Surg, or Emergency Department experience required.
NIHSS upon hire Stroke certified Registered Nurse (SCRN) within 3 years of hire.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi task is required. Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer and use of Mocrosoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Outlook).
BSN preferred
Other certification required according to department policy. Requires the ability to independently practice and prioritize demands in an ever-changing, dynamic environment. Must demonstrate understanding of pathophysiology and rationale of special needs and common problems associated with physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, rehabilitative, spiritual/cultural and self care issues. Must be proficient in hemodynamic lines, mechanical ventilation, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, general anesthesia, IV infusion titration, and monitoring and assessing patients requiring sedation. Must have demonstrated critical thinking skills; effective English written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with windows-based computer operations. Must also demonstrate skills in basic math delegation, leadership and team management. The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job.
