Responsible for developing, implementing and managing an HIM quality management (compliance) plan for coding and reimbursement, and health record documentation according to established goals and objectives. Audits quality of coded and coding related data and serves as coding resource to hospital and medical staff.
High School diploma, courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Medical
Terminology, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4 and Disease Pathology.
5 years progressively responsible coding, coding support, or auditing experience
Familiarity with state and federals laws, professional standards, and accreditation standards
Knowledge of HIM systems
Knowledge of statistics, process analysis, and outcome analysis
Previous management experience preferred.
License: Credentialed as and RHIA, RHIT or CCS
