We have a unique and exciting opportunity in our Consulting group for an engineer with experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
Sargent & Lundy is one of the most experienced and largest power industry engineering and consulting firms. This position in Sargent & Lundy’s Consulting group will require you to evaluate operations and maintenance programs and the performance of power plants. In addition, you will also carry out condition assessments of operating power plant equipment. This position is being added to support continued growth of the Sargent & Lundy Consulting group, which regularly provides technical and financial due diligence, asset transaction support, project development services, and owner’s engineering services.
This position will require a great deal of face-to-face interaction with power plant owners/operators and financial institutions.
We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.
This position requires someone who has a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. A Master’s degree in an engineering discipline is a plus.
In order to qualify, it is essential that you have 15 or more years of experience in the power industry, including:
Ten or more years of operations and maintenance experience in large central station power plants. Supervisory and management experience in maintenance is a significant plus;
Experience with multiple power generation technologies;
Experience with scheduled outage and overhaul planning and execution for large central station power plants;
Experience with predictive, preventative, and reliability-based maintenance programs;
General knowledge of budgeting and approximate costs of power plant maintenance activities;
Experience with owner’s engineering activities and/or construction supervision during power project execution is a plus.

Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
Experience writing technical reports and proposals.
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others.
Project planning and leadership skills.
