Full Job Description
Counselor/Therapist (Masters level, license required)
Position Requirements:
- Active State of Illinois License
- Experience with providing counseling
- Organization, excellent communication, and great work ethic
- Excellent documentation skills
- Providers can be part-time or full-time
Position Duties:
- Provide therapy to clients with behavioral health, family, relationship, parenting, and couple problems; suicide; stress management; problems with self-concept/self-esteem; inaccurate core beliefs, personality disorders; and other issues associated with behavioral, cognitive, social, and emotional health.
- Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with issues and problems.
- Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with clients, staff, and interns.
- Provide services in a professional, warm, and compassionate manner with fidelity to an evidence-based theoretical orientation.
- Act as an advocate for clients.
- Develop and implement treatment plans.
- Familiar with evidenced based theories and interventions and be willing to improve theoretical knowledge and skills.
- Communicate and collaborate well with others.
- Evaluate clients' psychosocial and cognitive condition; implement safety plans, no-harm contracts, or mandated reporting as necessary.
- Conduct screenings and assessments.
- Maintain compliance to HIPAA policy; develop records and maintain confidentiality relating to client identity and services.
- Have a good sense of humor and unconditional positive regard with clients and staff.
- Have a positive, optimistic, kind, and compassionate personality; proactive, energetic, and flexible.
- Be able to write effective, professional, and efficient documentation.
- Be willing to jump in and help out others; genuinely participate as a colleague.
- Have great organizational skills and be able to work independently.
- Be on a positive, upwards path of personal and professional growth and willing to continue that with a great team who will support you.
- Must be available online at least one night a week until 8 p.m. in addition to either Saturday or Sunday (half-day) 2-3 times a month
