*There is an executed 2018 MOU between the District of Columbia Workforce Investment Council (WIC) and the Department of Employment Services (DOES). For 2018, WIC has agreed to the transfer of funds to DOES to fund the integration of a successful workforce intermediary program. These funds in this MOU are earmarked to assist DOES in the development of innovative programs that provide pre-apprenticeship, job training, and supportive services. The programs under this partnership include occupational job training and related services intended to assist District residents prepare for direct employment in the hospitality and/or construction industry.
In order for DOES to complete its assigned tasks under the executed MOU with WIC, temporary services will be needed to help complete the work prior to September 30, 2018. Thus, a Contractor(s) is needed to provide staff to work closely with the DOES Office of Apprenticeship, Information and Training (OAIT) team to perform critical administrative and operational duties that help OAIT daily work flow to ensure participants that are 18 and over are connected to meaningful work experiences, training, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeships as approved by WIC*

Technical Writing services that encompass evaluating program performance using metrics defined by WIC which are contained in the MOU; writing and an annual report at the end of the Fiscal Year highlighting key outcomes and takeaways and writing new and revising existing operational policies to help improve Workforce Development operations.

Technical Writershould have some formal education in business, education, English or related field; This position requires a minimum of 2-3 years professional experience in marketing, technical writing, consulting, or related fields; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Experience in MS Access and SharePoint is highly desirable; Ability to review and correct grammar, punctuation, inconsistencies in style, and spelling errors; Advanced knowledge and experience in data collection and data analysis around program evaluation; and 1 to 2 years’ experience writing operational policies and procedures,

Must be able to work from Monday 9/24/18 to Friday 9/28/18; no exceptions

This is a temporary position with the possibility of being extended.

Job Type: Temporary

Salary: $35.72 /hour
