As a telecommunications specialist, you will provide Tier 2 service, desk system administration, support for a 24x7 message, and communications system. You will also, resolve remote hardware and software issues using systems analysis techniques and procedures to ensure communication channels are operating as specified. This is accomplished through analysis and resolution of anomalies ranging from user errors, system/application errors, and/or infrastructure connectivity.

Your responsibilities will include the following:
Maintaining message traffic
Researching and analyzing telecommunications activity associated within the technical areas in the telecommunications center
Analyzing traffic reports and diagnostic reports to determine network logic and malfunction trends, troubleshoot problems, and recommend improvements to enhance performance
Monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing the application and hardware systems associated with a global communications and message systems
Must have the appropriate skills and experience to operate and monitor message processing systems and the ability to follow the program's configuration management, incident management, and quality assurance processes to include coordination processes, effective communication, adapting as a team player in the program, and keeping all program documents up-to-date
Providing critical services in support of the management, monitoring, and operating a 24-hour support environment, including holidays and weekends

You will bring the following:
Basic understanding of IT fundamentals
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 R2, CentOS Linux, Windows 7 and Windows 10)
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
Possess a demonstrated knowledge of organizational communications, communications methods, organizational message flow, formal writing style, and an in-depth knowledge of common terminology and acronyms
Excellent customer relations, professional, and able to demonstrate a knowledge of interpersonal communications skills
Possess the ability and confidence to professionally represent the branch through public speaking
Possess advanced abilities in attention to detail and observation skills
Working knowledge of computer hardware and hardware functions (switches, routers, servers, etc.), troubleshooting, and pinging devices
Working knowledge of writing trouble tickets and help desk procedures
Ability to think in a logical manner
Working knowledge of networking
Basic familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools
Experience with Microsoft Office products

You will have one of the following:
10 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
8 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
4-7 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
3 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
2 Years of job related experience and Doctorate

The following experience is a plus:
Work experience in a secure telecommunications network environment
Working knowledge of Windows and Linux systems administration to include restarting servers and services
Working knowledge of Lotus Notes (including Domino server and Domino Admin.)
Experience with after action reports, SitReps, and SPOT reports
Working knowledge of Tivoli

Hours:
This position requires working on 12-hour rotating day shifts 6pm to 6am, alternating shifts for a two week period (2 days on, 2 days off, 3)
