We are seeking a full-time Commercial Lines Account Manager for our small commercial division. The role of the Account Manager is to take ownership of and maintain the book of business assigned including having a complete understanding of the history, operations, key contacts, and cross-selling opportunities of each account. This includes building working relationships with your clients, producers and company underwriters. You are the liaison between the client and the carrier/producers. You have and are expected to use the authority given to you to make decisions to complete successful transactions and satisfy customer's needs. Our business is to service the client. Our client's needs should be handled in a timely and professional manner at all times. We promote and encourage teamwork amongst each other. You will work closely with the other account managers/producers and Programs Director to help service existing clients and to help with bringing new business aboard.

Duties:
  • Responsible for managing book of business for an outside sales producers
  • Decision making, within authority, and use of common sense
  • Work, when necessary, without direct supervision
  • All procedures for renewal business including entering collecting data, completing applications, rating, proposing
  • All procedures for renewal business policies including, but not limited to, contacting clients prior to renewal to notify that coverage is in force, collecting data, completing marketing, rate and loss analyses, coordinating with Producer to determine marketing strategy, and participating in proposal presentation;
  • Build & maintain effective professional relationships w/intermediaries, usually wholesalers, carriers, underwriters
  • Identify and develop new business in line with department/office objectives;
  • Offer advice about existing products and promote value added services;
  • Handle and respond to service and product inquiries from clients quickly, efficiently and accurately;
  • Keep abreast of market conditions and developments;
  • Build up detailed knowledge about the company's products;
  • Negotiate deals with internal sections of the business in order to meet client demands and remain competitive;
  • Make suggestions and implement solutions to challenges within authority level;
  • Develop new ways to streamline procedures and make things easier;
  • File maintenance electronically;
  • Research/discuss missing or incomplete information with producer(s) or underwriter;
  • Keep activities current and clear on a daily basis;
  • Attach proper forms to issued policies/endorsements electronically;
  • Utilize resources to research unfamiliar information (website/intranet);
  • Work towards or possess professional designation;
  • May perform additional duties or special projects that may arise.
Requirements
  • Possess California Fire and Casualty Broker-Agent License
  • Strong time management and effective organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Must be able to identify and respond to changing priorities;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Applied EPIC is a plus;
  • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance industry standards, policies and procedures
  • Must be able to produce a current CA driver's license
