DISTRICT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Understand and manage the scope of services for large projects, including, but not limited to, agreement scope, customer interface, supervision, material, equipment and resource planning activities. Also manage the safety requirements and financial performance of each project.
Receive engineered order from Regional Project Manager. Review project to ensure understanding of scope of project.
Establish and maintain job file folder. Ensure records are accurate.
Review field dimensions, if required.
Prepare purchase orders and provide copies to administration. Maintain copies of all purchase orders related to job.
Order materials for job to ensure timely delivery. These items include components from factory, steel, runway collectors or conductors, safety devices, serial number stickers, etc.
Inspect components upon delivery for damage and to ensure all materials received. Copy customer manual prior to delivery and add to job file.
If subcontractor not pre-determined by salesperson, obtain bids from pre-approved list of subcontractors to perform the work. Coordinate price deviance with salesperson. Document schedule and any agreement with subcontractor.
Visit subcontractor on a regular basis to determine progress of fabrication and examine work quality. Ensure subcontractor has necessary insurance certificates on file and have signed a subcontractor agreement.
Test crane prior to shipment. Inspect dimensions against approved drawing. Complete inspection report and maintain in files.
Verify all required payments have been made by customer prior to delivery of crane.
Contact shipping company and arrange for shipment of crane to job site, tarping if necessary - coordinate with installer and customer. Ensure subcontractor has sufficient information to complete installation. If necessary, arrange site visit with subcontractor prior to installation.
Oversee the subcontractor and the installation process at the customer site.
Inspect the crane for appearance and structural integrity upon completion of construction.
Arrange start up and commissioning of crane with appropriate service group (usually Crane Pro Services).
Track project costs against estimate with a Sales Estimate Worksheet. Log actual purchase order numbers, costs, etc.
Maintain up-to-date job board and schedule of all projects. Disseminate information to salesperson, subcontractor and administration
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required.
2+ years' experience working with cranes required. Previous experience working in a Project Management/coordination position desired.
Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Candidate must have good computer skills in a Windows environment. Candidate must have good analytical ability and communication skills. Travel 10% domestic required.
