Sr. Solutions Architect / Sales Engineer

The DiamondITSr. Solutions Architectis responsible for supporting the needs of the Solutions Consultants (Sales) team by providing technical guidance and validation on our products and services. TheSr. Solutions Architectalso acts as a liaison between the Sales Team and other departments within the company, such as the Service Desk or Projects Team. This individual is responsible for understanding all of DiamondIT’s core services, including, but not limited to cloud, data center infrastructure, software development, and professional services. The role also requires maintaining current vendor training and certifications required for the technologies we sell—currently, this includes Cisco, Microsoft, Citrix, and VMware. TheSr. Solutions Architectsupports the Solutions Consultant by interviewing and interpreting prospective and existing customer needs and providing the appropriate DiamondIT solution offering. The primary responsibilities of this role are focused on the development of the sales opportunity and ensuring that there is technical validation and accuracy of the solution provided. This role ensure that we can deliver what we are selling within the expected gross margin established for that service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Sales Representatives by designing, validating, and delivering the necessary build of materials or parts needed to support the creation of quotes, proposals, and responses to

RFP/RFI’s from clients

  • Represent the service department throughout the sales cycle
  • Provide pre-sales technical assistance, demonstrations, and product education to the Sales

Team, customers, or prospects

  • Interpret customer requirements; speak with customers or prospects to understand their needs

and relay this information to the Sales Representative

  • Work with Solutions Consultants to bring sales opportunities to a Closed/Won state
  • Serve as liaison with other departments in the company to gather technical expertise for

supporting the Sales Team

  • Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other related events
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge of the service offerings of DiamondIT
  • Understand core vendors’ technologies and channel engagement policies to support successful

sales cycle

  • Effectively communicate features and benefits of the recommended solutions and manage

prospect expectations throughout the lifecycle of the opportunity

  • Cross-selling and up-selling services and solutions to existing accounts to increase revenue and

customer retention

  • Manage the complexity of Managed IT services proposals, architecture designs, and service

level agreements

  • Perform sales procedures through activities and opportunities in ConnectWise and remain

compliant with defined policies and procedures

  • Superior oral and written skills
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential to the performance of this position
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend weekly sales meetings and ensure sales opportunities are compliant with company policy
  • Assist with sales projects and provide cross functional assistance to other departments when

needed

  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
  • Understand processes in ConnectWise by completing assigned training materials and blueprints on the ConnectWise University
  • Enter all work as activities or service tickets into ConnectWise

  • Associates degree or higher preferred
  • Technical background, with previous experience in IT services and products, managed IT

services, or IT consulting

  • Proven track record in sales and knowledge of technology
  • Enjoy working with customers and external audiences
  • Proficient with general office applications
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, presentation, and customer service skills
  • Skill in preparing written communications and materials
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephony skills, communication skills, active listening and customer-

care

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate data entry
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
  • Ability to travel to client locations on a regular basis

Needed Attributes - The ideal candidate will possess:

Strong managerial and leadership skills, strong sense of urgency, and a creative mindset. This position requires strong written and oral communications skillsets. Ability to manage and work within a cooperative team environment as well as perform assignments autonomously.
