Full Job Description
Passive Safety Electronics - Investigations Lead/Expert will be the single point of contact to interface with VSRC and other associated organizations as it relates to NHTSA investigations and inquiries, VSRC investigations, product analysis/litigation requests, EDR interpretation, EDR governance for change requests, EDR execution/validation for new vehicles and change requests, warranty recovery activities related to recalls and PCA generation. Candidate must be able to interpret EDR and have functional knowledge of passive safety electronics/hardware. The Lead/Expert must have the capability to triage issues and involve other experts where appropriate, but maintain lead for all follow-up activities.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited university
Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience in the automotive industry
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project)
Good communication and presentation skills
Candidate will need to manage and delegate assignments related to several different activities; must be organized and efficient
Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R)
Understanding of manufacturing and quality processes of electrical components
Knowledge Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Master degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering degree from an ABET accredited University
Electronics/hardware expertise
Experience with Passive safety electronics
Experience with EDR interpretation
