POSITION: Sports Desk/Tot StopAttendant (Full Time and Part Time)

REPORTS TO: Fitness Director/Fitness Supervisor
Sports Desk - The front desk attendant is the first point of contact for the fitness center, responsible for greeting all members and guests in a friendly, professional manner, answering telephone calls in the same manner. The front desk is “mission control” for the fitness center. Therefore, this position is responsible for providing information on all fitness center services and programs and taking reservations for professional services and court reservations.
Tot Stop - The childcare worker must possess the ability to work effectively under pressure. Childcare workers care for children, 2 to 11 years of age and potty trained, when parents are either in the Sports Club, clubhouse dining, or on the golf course/tennis courts. Childcare workers provide for children’s basic needs such as feeding. Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, fun and interactive environment for children in the Tot Stop. They conduct all activities in a positive and professional manner. They are constantly demonstrating extreme patience when handling children and members, while also upholding all Tot Stop policies and procedures. They use their customer service skills, optimism, and positive attitude in almost every facet of what they do. A Tot Stop attendant is also expected to be able to work at our front desk, as needed.

Sport Desk Duties
q Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves fitness center facilities.
q Properly open and close the fitness center each day according to Standard Operating Procedures.
q Accurately book, change and cancel spa appointments.
q Accurately use Jonas Management and Jonas Activity Management system.
q Provide detailed descriptions of professional services, treatments, packages, services, facility features and hours of operation.
q Answer the phone promptly and use the member’s name throughout the phone conversation.
q Maintain eye contact when addressing external and internal guests.
q Handle member and guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously.
q Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
Tot Stop Duties
q Make sure every parent is signing in and checking out their child and filling out sign in sheet properly.
q Provide a clean, safe and fun child care environment.
q Ensure safe play conditions and follow established security procedures.
q Orient parents in regard to policies and procedures of child care center and maintain positive rapport with all parents.
q Develops and implement activities for the children and attentively watch and attend to the children.
q Treat children if injured and complete accident reports; report to parents, supervisor and Center Director.
q Make sure children are never left alone.
q Make sure parents abide by the 4 ½ hour time limit.
q Maintain a clean; safe, fully stocked and well-organized work area.
q Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.
q Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
q Assist in all areas of fitness center operation as requested by management.
q Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or members/guests in the fitness center that require attention.

q Occasional need to assist with lifting heavy weights to replace to proper racks.
q Frequent tidying of locker rooms and fitness areas are requirements of this leadership position
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
q CPR and First Aid certification required.
q Previous Childcare experience desired.
q Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Permit.
q Must complete the Abuse Prevention Systems Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Training program.
Full Time Evening/Weekend ~30 – 35 hours, available for the following shifts:
Weekday: Sports Desk 12-4 (occasional)
Weekday: Tot Stop 3-9
Weekend: Tot Stop 2-8
Weekend: Sports Desk 1-7
Must be able to work two weekend days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Part Time staff ~20 hours, available for the following shifts:
Weekday Sports Desk 11:30-4 + 12-4 + 4-9
Weekend Sports Desk 7-1 + 1-7
Weekend Tot Stop 8-2 + 2-8
Must be available for all shifts, able to cover when needed, will work 20 hours.
