Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Projects is responsible for management of the DenverHVAC project team. This role serves our contract clients through exceptional
project execution and redeems company gross profit objectives through
leadership and management of assigned staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job
description gives an overview of the overall essential functions, competencies,
skills, and abilities for the Manager of
Projects role. Other duties may be assigned.

Customer

Service:
o
Promptly respond to customer calls/complaints
and resolve problems quickly and efficiently while repairing, maintaining, or
building customer confidence

o
Act as primary customer contact for project
management activities; includes project meetings, scheduling, billing, close
out and warranty

o
Effectively handling customer requests or customer
satisfaction issues that the Field Project Manager cannot fulfill/handle

o
Communicate promptly and clearly with internal
customers (sales reps, service personnel, etc.) as required to ensure a smooth
project experience for the customer

Communication

and Interpersonal Skills:
o
Oversee internal and external project start up,
update, and close out meetings

o
Ensure complete documentation of project progress
(internally and externally)

o
Available to team members and clients throughout
the project installation via phone, text, and email

o
Communicate to the client regarding items
outside of project scope; leverages the Project Sales Representative and helps
gain customer approval of change orders

o
Actively lead regular project review meetings;
provide information on work progress, customer feedback, field relations,
internal administration and other matters affecting service operations

o
Build rapport and productive working relationships
with Haynes management, supervisors, field staff, and administrative personnel

Job

Knowledge and Technical Skills:
o
Build and maintain project schedules utilizing
Microsoft Project; compile a master project schedule in order to ensure
adequate manpower and subcontractor support; determine job priorities and plan
project work in order to achieve critical milestones

o
Proactively drive project schedules and
timelines; identifying potential problems before they arise, negotiating
solutions, and communicating to all stakeholders

o
Manage vendors and subcontractors on current
projects

o
Assure completion of projects (full contracted
scope) on time and obtain written customer acceptance of work

o
Redeem project revenue at planned costs;
effectively manage and control equipment, materials, tools, subcontractors and
other costs while ensuring effective field operations

o
Gather and analyze information, identify
problems in a timely manner, and develop solutions

o
Establish policies, methods, procedures, and
structures necessary for consistent, quality project outcomes

o
Apply principles of cost/benefit to gain
maximum utilization of company resources

o
Understand mechanical systems, applicable
mechanical/electrical codes and OSHA standards

o
Promote company’s Safety Program; hold self
and staff accountable for safety compliance; support the Safety Manager’s
training efforts and OSHA compliance initiatives

o
Build and maintain network of quality
subcontractors and oversee subcontractor administration (MSA’s, COI’s, etc.)

Seek out appropriate internal and external
training opportunities; proactively work on an Associate Development Plan

Keep technical knowledge up to date with
respect to equipment and concepts

Gain familiarity with new products and
techniques as they are introduced

Leadership:
o
Establish plan to support annual goals through
strategic plans, capital investments, personal effort, delegation, etc.

Effectively audit performance of assigned
staff and follow up where deficiencies are identified; coach and train as
necessary; ensure effective ADPs and Performance Reviews are completed on time

Assist Field Project Manager to ensure
technical capabilities of field staff is consistent with contractual commitments;
identify and recommend training to improve skills of staff, individually and as
a team

o
Support strong working relationships between
sales and operations

o
Promote professionalism and pride in order to
attract high quality employees; continually build and maintain a network of industry
contacts

o
Direct appropriate personnel actions (i.e.
hiring, firing, promotions, etc.)

o
Ensure personal and team compliance with all
company policies/employee handbook; contracting requirements; NEC, OSHA, State
Labor Dept. policies, codes and guidelines

Required Experience:
REQUIREMENTS:
·
Minimum 10 years of commercial HVAC experience;
HVAC service and installation expertise

·
Minimum 5 years of operations leadership or
strategic management

·
Budgeting and financial forecasting acumen

·
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability
to manage staff

·
Strong understanding of commercial mechanical
systems and installation techniques to ensure timely installation while
minimizing disruptions to customer; includes chillers, boilers, ductwork,
piping, etc.

·
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management
or related field

·
Ability to read and understand construction
plans and blueprints

·
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite,
including Word, Excel, and Outlook

·
Expert in Microsoft Project
