The role is directly involved in the day-to-day management of direct and indirect procurement for the Company. The position assists in the development of policies, procedures and objectives for the cost-effective procurement of goods and services for the business including the areas of indirect purchases, MRO purchases, Fleet, contract labor services, direct material purchases, negotiating, establishing and managing vendor contract agreements. The position analyzes and monitors supplier performance, which includes initiating and managing ongoing projects to reduce overall procurement costs and improve supplier flexibility, delivery and performance.

Principles Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Play key role in the establishing purchasing policies and strategies in concert with UCC regulations and Corporate vision and values
  • Liaise with CCBSS on national procurement alliances and ensures compliance
  • Interact regularly with Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Print Production, etc. Identify areas for continuous improvement and provide a superior Customer Service experience
  • Monitor Supplier quality issues and understand their manufacturing processes
  • Work closely with legal to develop and revise supplier agreements
  • Responsible for compiling 120-day demand forecast for raw materials and submitting to suppliers on a monthly basis
  • Assist Procurement Lead in the development and growth of the central maintenance systems and processes
  • Analyze current and potential suppliers and develop strategic alliances with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, flexible lead times and high standards of quality
  • Provide analysis as part of contract negotiations, assists local facilities in developing RFPs and negotiating certain contracts while ensuring compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Compile and analyze trends in prices and supply of production services, finished goods and raw materials
  • Maintain purchasing systems, including computerized systems. Prepare documents, contracts and reports and prepare instructions regarding these systems and procedures
  • Maintain cost reduction programs on all purchasing activity
  • Assist in the development of strategic alliances with local and diverse suppliers
  • Shared Company ethics and values
  • Experience in developing and leading Corporate improvement initiatives including maintenance excellence programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods and practices related to purchasing, logistics, and quality systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supplier commodity processes and practices
  • Direct Material Sourcing and contract negotiation experience
  • Demonstrated experience with driving cost reduction and other savings initiatives
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and interactions with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation
  • Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain management
  • Prior related/progressively more responsible & broad based experience in a large, complex manufacturing environment strongly preferred
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
(Specific degree/discipline desired: Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field)

Certification Requirements:
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD), or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) preferred
