Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is currently seeking to hire a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator for a DoD Federal Government customer.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to develop, implement and maintain server infrastructure for a large enterprise. The candidate will:

Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure and test server infrastructure components and connectivity
Identify physical facility requirements needed to operate server infrastructure components (i.e. floor space, equipment clearance, electrical, cooling, cabling, weight load)
Provide primary system administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Linux / Solaris environment and performance issues
Perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other system administrators as part of incident management
Analyze operating system check processes and log files, and retrieve and review information contained within logs for troubleshooting
Monitor and troubleshoot backups, scheduled jobs, and be able to monitor systems and processes and take proactive action
Maintain server security in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and supporting vendor requirements
Perform automated deployment of patches to IT devices using enterprise patch management tools. Apply vendor supported security patches on a continuous and timely basis per DoD and DMDC policy
Support DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework within the DoD Component cybersecurity program at DoD client site
Ensure that operating system, hardware, and firmware comply with appropriate security configuration guidelines, policies, and procedures
Provide troubleshooting and technical support services for server infrastructure infrastructures. Perform break/fix actions, Review/update all assigned tickets
Add all new systems to the Asset database / Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Remove all decommissioned systems or components
Provide consulting and support services to identify server infrastructure operational, monitoring and reporting
Support storage technologies (NAS/SAN) from vendors such as Brocade, Hitachi, NetApp HP 3PAR.
Perform proactive capacity planning, including short term and long-term trend analysis, ensuring all server infrastructure devices are monitored for capacity and stability
Demonstrate the ability to time-manage and prioritize, take a proactive approach to improving services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies.
Analyze user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues
Define and integrate current best practices (technical, security, process) in server infrastructure solution analysis and definition.
Coordinate regularly with management on solution plans and status. Update technical leads and management
Create / analyze use of and need for architectures & solutions to create operational improvements. Analyze cost effectiveness of client's current operating environment to identify opportunities for improvement
Assist in the development of ITSM solutions by providing specialized expertise as required
Assist in creation of project work plans and implementation strategies
Support disaster recovery and Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) plans and drills

Education and Years of Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of related experience
Certifications required by 8570.1 which may include Security+ or higher (Must meet requirements within six months of job appointment)
RedHat certification is a plus
Public Key Infrastructure knowledge is a plus
Virtualization experience or certification is a plus

Required Skills:
5 years' proficiency in managing and administering Linux / Unix OS and hardware infrastructure. Experienced with RedHat ver. 5 or 6.6 and Solaris
2-3 years of project management skills to manage individual projects to complete within timelines
Experienced in Oracle/HP/Netapp server hardware and administration
Experienced Storage Area Networks (SANs) and NFS hardware and administration
Experienced in automation and scripting
Strong experience with infrastructure environments (e.g. Operating system, hardware, data center, security, network, and server / web related applications)
Excellent troubleshooting skills. Analyze statistics to identify and resolve network problems. Keeps abreast of operational support technologies and industry trends
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Availability for 24X7 on call support
Demonstrates technical proficiency and takes initiative in areas of responsibility; Independently performs tasks specific to area of expertise reliably, skillfully, and accurately
Desired Qualifications

Foundational or expert knowledge and experience with Information Technology
Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
PMP Certification
Experience with Splunk logging software
Experience with Oracle databases and Oracle middleware
Understanding of DoDI 8510.01 Risk Management Framework
Physical Requirement(s): N/A

Clearance Requirement:
Must possess active Secret clearance with Investigation Type-Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must maintain program security clearance eligibility requirements.
Min. Citizenship Status Required: US Citizen

Preferred Alexandria, VA or Seaside, CA
Must be willing to travel as required by business needs - including, train, air, bus, automobile etc.
