NBCUniversal’s Vice President, Security Operations, West Coast will assist in leading the Security Operations for one the world’s largest global media companies. This position will oversee and coordinate security efforts for the Company’s studios and parks and resorts located in Universal City, CA. This includes all rooftops and activities in Los Angeles and the surrounding area. S/he will ensure NBCUniversal’s employees and visitors, intellectual property and assets are protected and secure. This position reports directly to the SVP, Global Chief Security Officer and will have local accountability to the onsite business leaders for Universal City Studios, Film, and Parks and Resorts. The position will be based in Universal City, CA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build and lead a team to develop and implement programs that protect people and assets from infrastructure failure, theft, fraud, workplace violence, and sabotage or terrorism
Assure quality, consistency, and efficiency of security processes for operations/infrastructure, prevention, and crisis response across NBCUniversal
Develop and maintain a security program for employees and guests of the Studios, and Parks and Resorts
Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement, intelligence and other related government agencies
Work with members of the NBCUniversal leadership team and other industry security leaders to prioritize initiatives and spending based on appropriate risk management
Collaborate with other functions such as Business Continuity and Crisis Management, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Real Estate, Medical, Legal, Human Resources and Communications on both the planning for and responses to security and crisis management-related incidents
Partner with related departments on investigations into security incidents/breaches and assist with any disciplinary or legal matters associated with such incidents
Work with business leaders to evaluate security staff, ensuring a high level of talent and upgrading where necessary
Build relationships with peers in the media industry to benchmark as well as share intelligence and best practices
Continually and effectively communicate security issues and decisions impacting business operations with appropriate internal and/or external stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements

10+ years of experience in security leadership and/or security operations in a corporate environment, law enforcement, military services or related experience

Prior roles requiring collaboration with local, state and federal law enforcement and other government agencies

Desired Characteristics

Previous corporate responsibility for Security and/or Crisis Management for a multi-national employer in the media and entertainment industry

Experience within federal or local law enforcement and/or military services

Proven ability to partner with divisions external to Global Security Organization (e.g. Human Resources, Medical, Legal, Labor Relations and Communications representatives)

Experience supporting high-profile Executives (e.g. Chief Executive Officers or Presidents, highly visible employees)

Experience making recommendations to executive management supported by thorough analysis using financial information and other relevant empirical data
Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with all levels of management

Successful record of influencing senior leadership and stakeholders in order to implement strategy and achieve results in times that can be fast-paced, pressurized and of high volume

Experience managing a budget and applying financial analysis (e.g. building and presenting business case)

Proven ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels and across divisions

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, advanced degree in related field a plus
