About the Position: As a Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) for the US Army Corps of Engineers' South Atlantic Division, located in Atlanta, GA. This position is within the Planning & Policy Division working with the Corps five district location offices located in Wilmington, NC; Charleston, SC; Savannah, GA; Jacksonville, Fl; and Mobile, AL.
Analyzes proposed and existing directives, providing advice and assistance to supervisor and subordinate staff regarding content
Analyzes and interpretation of policies and guidelines covering such matters as correspondence, travel, incentive awards, equipment/services, acquisition actions, financial obligating procedures, etc.
Serves as division timekeeper. Posts all hours worked and leave taken, prepares overtime requests; maintains time and leave files; and inputs labor report via Civil Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS).
Prepares travel requests, vouchers and reports, and contact travelers en-route to relay information.
Reviews all outgoing correspondence referred to the Division Chief(s), Director(s) or Commander for signature to ensure it conforms to his/her preferred style of subject matter approach; is factually correct, procedural and grammatically accurate

Compose replies to correspondence involving administrative matters and those matters not requiring special handling.
As the principal administrative assistant for the assigned division/office and enterprise office staff within HQ, South Atlantic Division, independently accomplishes a wide range of administrative actions in support of the mission.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel 10% if the time for temporary duty in support of the mission for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Experience in a variety of administrative support functions such as timekeeping, travel, filing, property management, etc. Experience in the use of automated systems to accomplish tasks such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, timekeeping databases, and financial databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
