Summary of Job: Under the general supervision of the Director of Quality and Compliance, plans, designs, directs, evaluates and communicates organization wide the Risk Management Program for RI International. Ensures the integration and coordination of Risk Management goals and objectives to assist in fulfilling the agency mission, vision and values. Serves as designated Safety Officer for agency.

I. Essential Job Functions

Risk Management
Reviews and tracks incident reports to identify Risk Management concerns and coordinate an immediate response to minimize the agency’s or participant’s exposure to adverse outcomes.
In collaboration with RI International Human Resource Department, conducts internal investigations regarding complaints/grievances and quality of support/services.
Infection Control
Directs the activities of the RI International Infection Control program, supervises the activities of surveillance, prevention and control of infections.
Coordinate the monitoring of infection rates, trends, data analysis, reporting and follow up.
Works with leadership, Medical Director and Nursing staff, to develop effective and efficient infection control plans and activities.
Coordinates Infection Control training requirements.
Assists with implementation of Joint Commission, CDC and OSHA standards
Utilizes appropriate Infection Control procedures.
Safety
Serves as designated Safety Officer for agency.
Participates in the development of safety policies, procedures, while ensuring adherence with HIPAA, Life Safety Code and State regulations
Coordinates fire drills in accordance with agency policy; conducts periodic hazard/safety surveillance of the Agency emergency systems; recommends and implements corrective action as required.
Training/Education.
Provides education to management and staff on Continuous Risk Management Improvement principles, tools and applications.
In collaboration with the RI International Training and Development Department, Program Managers, and/or other leaders, may organize, facilitate, or conduct training activities related to new employee celebration/orientation and/or ongoing employee training activities – for all RI International locations.
Provides direct supervision to the Risk Coordinators and/or Risk Specialists.
Provides performance feedback and monitors the completion of assigned tasks.
Monitors attendance
Conducts annual employee evaluation, on-going training and mentoring.
Interacts daily with management and staff in and outside the Agency, such as vendors, providers, state and city officials.
Cooperatively works as a team member with the ability to work well with supervisors and co-workers.
Model, support and actively participates in the implementation of the Agency’s Mission Statement, Values and Philosophy.

IV. Documentation

Documents relevant and required information and services provided in the identified service record (electronic or otherwise) assuring continuity of care as a tool for communication with other team members.
Maintain and observe all HIPAA regulations that apply.
Provide timely, quality and accurate documentation in accordance with program standards.

VII. Job Specifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Health/Social Services (or an equivalent combination of education and or experience can be considered to meet this requirement).
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the Behavioral Health Field.
Knowledge and experience with personal computer software including word processing, spreadsheets, statistical analysis, graphics and Outlook.
Knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Continuous Process Improvement and related regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of infection control practices, regulatory and licensure standards, risk management and safety desirable.
Two (2) or more years of previous management experience.
License & Certifications

May need to pass a background investigation.
Must meet all of the requirements of the Driver’s Safety Policy.

Working Conditions:
Works in an office environment and/or behavioral health clinic and may sometimes travel to meet the business needs.
Works a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to monitor program activities.

Physical Requirements:
Works in a standard office environment with some exposure to hazardous situations. Physical demands may include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands and/or fingers. Occasional sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision, use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
