Monroe Regional Hospital in Aberdeen, MS is a 35 bed acute care CIHQ certified hospital. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Charge Nurse.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our healthcare team. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the nursing staff. Your role will involve providing direct patient care, ensuring compliance with medical procedures, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with diagnostic evaluations
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the nursing staff, including assigning tasks and providing guidance and leadership
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe patient care environment
- Monitor patient progress and update medical records accordingly
- Educate patients and their families on proper care procedures and disease management
- Assist in training new nursing staff members
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
Skills:
- Proficient in vital sign monitoring and interpretation
- Experience with respiratory support equipment
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to provide care in various settings such as assisted living facilities or hospitals
- Solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
