Work with Chair to establish course and section schedule for each semester. Work with Registrar’s office to book classrooms. Make changes as needed.
Work with Chair to staff each section offered. Maintain course information in PeopleSoft. Request Blackboard shells from TBLS. Make changes as needed.
Help Chair to facilitate communication between prospective new adjunct faculty, track status.
Create and send adjunct contract letters. Collect signed copies from adjuncts.
Help newly hired adjuncts to prepare new hire paperwork, obtain required signatures and follow-up to ensure processing of new hires is completed accurately and in a timely manner. Help new adjuncts to obtain NYIT email accounts, and any other required systems access.
Collect final attendance, syllabi, maintain student and program files.
Advise students in the IS majors.
Provide registration assistance to students in IS and Core courses.
Process change of grades, change of majors and graduation applications.
Enter faculty payment information
Maintain student enrollment data. Post to share drive and Google drive.
Maintain inventory and make purchases of instructional supplies, office supplies, etc.
Coordinate a minimum of one faculty orientation per semester.
Assist with coordination of department meetings and events: reserving rooms, Zoom meetings, ordering refreshments and/or food.
Assist with coordination of department student workshops: Order materials, track participation, issue badges.
Help Chair to develop and obtain promotional materials such as posters, flyers, digital assets, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Minimum two years of administrative support experience.
Highly organized, with strong time-management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Flexible and cooperative with the ability and willingness to take and implement instruction.
A proactive, self-motivated problem solver. Follows-up independently.
Ability to travel to Manhattan campus once or twice per semester for meetings and events.
Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, internet.
Familiarity with social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) is a plus.
Familiarity with desktop publishing is a plus.
