Description:
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work under the general direction of the Clinical Research Program Manager and Principal Investigator of the MGH Coagulation Lab to achieve the following goals: 1) develop the necessary experience for career advancement and 2) contribute to the lab through research accomplishments, personal growth, and collaboration with others. The Research Fellow will conduct and lead research projects and participate in protocol development. The Research Fellow will collaborate closely with physicians and research staffs to develop, coordinate, and supervise all stages of the Coagulation Lab’s translational research projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to dissemination of research findings by publishing in top-tier journals and presenting in conferences. Minimum requirement of 3 publications and 3 presentations
- Participates in grant writing and proposals
- Responsible for the design and implementation of research process and study protocol
- Recruiting and enrolling eligible participants into studies, including but not limited to screening clinic and OR schedules for eligible study participants (including any late add-ons) and consenting study participants
- Independently following the detailed protocols while working closely with wide range of members involved in research and patient’s clinical care team
- Training and providing technical support for lab personnel, including but not limited to blood draws, sample collection and processing, data collection and entry, signing laboratory and medication orders as indicated by protocol, troubleshooting problems related to the study
- Participates in lab meetings and all decisions made for the study and the formulation of procedures, as well as identifying modifications needed and works to implement solutions
- Directly responds to inquiries regarding study protocol
- Assists with the inventory and equipment maintenance and with general team coordination as needed
- Collaborate to maintain a workplace that embraces teamwork and inclusivity
Working Conditions:
Minimum requirement of 4 days per week dedicated to research activities, which may include weekend and nights depending on the needs of the lab
