HLK, a full-service digital agency with offices in St. Louis and Denver, is seeking an Account Director for its growing business. The Account Director should be a seasoned professional that will focus on strategic growth of client relationships and management within the account department.

The Account Director will serve as the account leadership and client contact with our large and complex clients. They identify client needs and work strategically to provide thoughtful solutions with measurable results. This position will focus on helping our clients solve problems, as it involves critical thinking, attention to detail, deep understanding of client business, exceptional people skills and an extremely proactive mindset.

An Account Director is a member of an HLK group leaders team and is responsible for direct management of a team of Account and Project Managers. Management responsibilities include strategic account direction, team and individual development, agency and team administrative duties, and aligning the best internal skill sets with clients to achieve their objectives.

This position demands critical thinking, a proactive mindset, attention to detail, exceptional people skills and strong business acumen. Lead key client meetings, engaging in strategic discussions and understanding client needs
Work with Planners to transform knowledge of client business objectives, internal and competitive opportunities, and translate customer insights into actionable marketing communications strategies and tactics
Foster relationships with senior client contacts
Build the best team possible by developing and retaining direct reports
Conduct performance and compensation reviews
Prioritize and manage workflow for respective team and individuals
Participate in resource planning and allocation
Assist in problem-solving for the agency as a whole
Act as a client lead on new business responses and pitches
Build thorough knowledge of all agency departments and offerings, and has the ability to sell it to help clients meet their business objectives
Develop briefs and make sure there is a common understanding of objectives between the client and the working team
Handle client escalations
Work with Analysts to define brand and project KPIs that measure progress toward key business objectives
Obtain feedback from the client after the project is complete in order to gather learnings for the agency team
Support Project Managers in issues, escalation and risk management
Maintain thorough knowledge of the client’s business, audience and industry in order to proactively contribute ideas and solutions
Manage negotiations between HLK and client
Proactively identify opportunities for your clients while also supporting and elevating opportunities identified by HLK expert teams
Understand and commit the working team to client business objectives
Clearly and convincingly articulate client recommendations - make sure the client understands the what and the why of HLK solutions
Translate brand strategy into customer experience across multiple touchpoints
Understand the SOW/estimates, project scopes and have financial stewardship for projects
