We are looking to add an experienced on-scene Large Loss Property & Casualty estimator to our team! Bonus points if you are located in either Houston or the DFW area*!
This role is primarily responsible for inspecting residential dwellings (homes) and estimating property damage for large loss and claims that are complex in nature (i.e. fire loss) and the size of the loss is generally over $100,000.
The ideal candidate has six or more years’ experience estimating property damage and estimate costs to repair or replace damaged or destroyed property thought to be associated with large loss, residential claims.
This job may be for you if you are customer service driven, detail-oriented, and possess strong investigative skills. Must have a strong working knowledge of claims handling procedures and demonstrate a good understanding of building construction principals and estimating for large loss, homeowner’s claims.
*In this role you will travel to insured homes throughout the state of Texas. Candidates located in Houston, Dallas / Fort Worth, or San Antonio / Austin are generally within reasonable driving distance to the majority of large loss claims assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect/appraise damages to dwellings, other structures, and personal property.
- Inspect all areas of the property, identify damages, document the risk, and estimate the damages identified.
- Prepare diagrams and estimates utilizing Xactimate software.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations, issues, industry activity, and trends.
- Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities and communicate suspicious findings.
- Perform technical review of contractor property damage estimates.
- May be called upon for Catastrophe Duty; may require travel.
Qualifications:
- Six or more years of on-scene property estimating a must, specifically handling large loss residential property claims.
- Xactimate estimating certification is a plus.
- Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) or equivalent required, but a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Adjusters License for states in which the Company conducts business.
- Fluency in Spanish preferred, but not required.
