DEPARTMENT: SJH - Diagnostic Radiology.
Director of Imaging Services is accountable for planning, developing, staffing, directing and managing all operations of the Department of Imaging and its affiliated outpatient centers for the St. Josephs Candler Health System. The Imaging Director also gives general direction to the Manager of Scheduling Operations as it relates to management of scheduling activities of all units under the Clinical Services umbrella. The Director is available to the SJC Medical Group Practice and the Savannah Chatham Imaging Radiology Group Practice as well as other departments in the health system for consultation on matters concerning imaging or other related subjects deemed appropriate. The Director works closely with Hospital Administration, Imaging Department Chairperson(s), Nursing Administration and others as necessary to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal governmental agency policies, rules and regulations. The Director works with the Chief Operating Officer, Department Chairperson to evaluate the short term and long term goals for the provision of imaging services consistent with the health systems strategic plan.
Masters in Business is required. 5-7 years Radiology and Imaging experience at the Director level in a large setting is required. Management of large imaging department experience necessary. Strong interpersonal skills needed to interact with radiologists as well as referring physicians, practice managers as well as hospital administration. Management experience in operating free standing outpatient centers as well as proven ability and track record of negotiating equipment, service and coverage contracts. CRA certified, ARRT registered.
