Martell Electric LLC is part of Martell Services Group Inc with offices in Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa and Arizona. Martell Electric LLC is a union electrical contractor. We are looking for an experienced electrical Project Manager for our office in Traverse City, MI.
THE JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Project Manager reports directly to theDirector of Operations. This hybrid position is responsible for individual Construction and Project Management activities, but also training and supervising multiple Project Managers and Construction personnel through the life cycle of all projects as well as the managment of the office as a whole.

Construction Management:
· Builds effective relationships with customers, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company vision, mission, and core values and meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations
· Provides inspection and quality assurance on Martell Service Group construction projects determining if completed work follows plans and specifications
· Coordinates work with contractors and various public utilities agencies
· Maintains the records and reports related to the project.
· Coordinates with the contractors and negotiate change orders
· Assists in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all phases of construction
· Assists in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required for the project.
· Coordinates construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications
· Identifies material concerns proactively and works with purchasing to avoid schedule disruptions
· Monitors and tracks contractor progress
- Manages project liability and risk management through the lifecycle of each project
- Conducts regular onsite inspections of projects for progress and safety compliance Identifies issues during construction related to quality, budget, schedule, code compliance, safety, etc.
- Generates and reviews project documentation including subcontract agreements, material orders, purchase orders, schedules, etc.
- Partners with purchasing to order materials, setup logistics, and ensure items arrive according to schedule
· Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required

Project Management:
· Develop project execution plans, staffing/scheduling plans (to include labor, subcontractors, and project engineers) and tracking metrics
· Coordinate and ensure adherence to contract documents (plans, specifications, permits, technical elements, estimates)
- Manage project workload by prioritizing work to ensure deadlines and budgetary constraints are met
- Build, develop and grow vendor, subcontractor, and field personnel relationships to assure success of the project
· Communicate project goals and status with key project stakeholders and job site personnel
- Monitor, control, and report on financial performance of each project managed
- Estimate, negotiate and procure vendors and materials for project
- Provide project administrative oversight by communicating complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or any other entity to key stakeholders
- Oversee project personnel’s participation in all aspects of job site safety and adherence to OSHA standards
- Track project tasks, including contracts, proposal letters, work authorizations, creation and/or maintenance of project directories, cloud-based file sharing sites, opening project and sub-project numbers, closeout activities
- Manage administrative tasks including project filing/sharing, print coordination, logging Request for Information (RFIs) & submittals, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) documentation and coordination, copying/scanning, creation/maintenance of various spreadsheets, correspondence, and log maintenance
- Support client in understanding and consideration of all warranty issues
- Special duties and projects, as assigned or necessary including coverage of other coordinators

Project Management Leadership and Training:
- Owns and develops tactical and operational plans and goals for Project Managers and remote office location
- Recommends and operationalizes strategies that have a direct impact on mid- to long-term function or achievements
- Reviews project documentation including scope of work (SOW), budget, subcontract agreements, and schedule with Project Managers
- Recognizes issues that fall outside of SOW and coordinates with Project Managers to capture all potential related costs to present to client
- Coordinates with Project Managers to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of resources including management, subcontractor labor, materials, and equipment
- Ensures Project Managers drive projects to completion, ensuring adherence to SOW, code compliance, and quality expectations
- Analyzes and reports all financial projections and performance for each assigned project to Director of Operations
- Design, develop and maintain library of training materials for our Project Management team
- Organize and lead ongoing internal training and education

WHAT YOU BRING:
· Bachelor's Degree, and/or Associate Degree, Trade School Certification, and/or relevant field experience (Electrical, Telecommunications, or Construction)
· Certification as a PMP with the Project Management Institute (PMI) or CCM with the Construction Management Association of American (CMAA) is highly desirable
· 7+ years prior construction and project management experience with a proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget
· Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment
· Advanced mathematical skills and technical abilities
- Advanced knowledge in building and construction
- Ability to read and understand blueprints both physically and digitally
· Superior verbal and written communication skills
· High level of professionalism and strong sense of urgency
· Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
