Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Front Desk Agent to join our medical team. As the first point of contact for patients, this role requires a high level of professionalism, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors, provide information and directions, and maintain a clean and organized front desk area.
- Manage patient flow and ensure timely check-in and check-out processes.
- Assist with medical administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and answering phone calls.
- Provide basic life support as necessary and perform basic first aid.
- Utilize anatomy knowledge and medical terminology to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with medical staff.
- Assist with urgent care and internal medicine procedures, including taking vital signs and preparing patients for x-rays and other tests.
- Support the PICU team with patient care and administrative tasks as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other administrative and clinical duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably as a front desk agent or medical administrative assistant.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic life support.
- Experience with medical systems and electronic medical records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a medical field preferred.
