Position Summary

The candidate’s mission is to fulfill the role of a freelance Production Artist within our exciting and thriving company and as part of the Marketing Department. Suitable candidates must demonstrate outstanding visual, verbal and written communication skills. As a vital part of the art of communication is listening, candidates must demonstrate acute listening skills in order to support the communications that the company needs to generate.

Given the dynamic nature of a business that both manufactures high-quality beer and operates seven taprooms, the Production Artist will be involved in a large range of integrated communications that must support the brand identity at all times.

The Production Artist works alongside the creative team to execute material within premade templates and existing artwork. They utilize Adobe software to create, tweak, or proof artwork ranging from brand material and packaging to promotional campaigns and sales material.

Reports to: Senior Graphic Designer

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates closely with designers, developers, photographers, brand managers, and social media specialists to understand their needs and communication strategies
  • Follow brand guidelines across the 3 breweries
  • Works within templates to produce sales, campaign, packaging, and brand materials
  • Works with existing artwork and applies to different advertising campaigns as well as sales materials
  • Assists in revising and proofing labels and packaging
  • Prepares final press-ready files based on supplied specifications for several types of printing
  • Works on packaging layouts and preflight files for release to printers or wholesalers
  • Prepares and edits images for online and mobile applications
  • Follows a development timeline to ensure tasks are being completed on time
  • Balances technical and creative skills while following template guidelines
  • Maintains and follows image and file libraries guidelines


  • Must be 21 or older
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field is required
  • Previous work experience in production design is strongly preferred
  • Craft beer industry passion and the appreciation of the culture that goes with it.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with use of software design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Extensive knowledge of Pantone Color Matching System technology
  • Detailed understanding of technical print requirements, including color separations and composition and ability to deliver print ready materials
  • Kean and creative design and composition atheistic with careful attention to detail
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills
  • Candidate should be able and willing to lift at least 31.5 lbs. from ground level to a shelf 50 inches from the floor. The candidate should also be able to move 165 lbs. of kegged beer from one location to another by sliding it on the floor.


  • DSLR/Photography background
  • Product photography experience
