DUTIES: Required to work in all facilities operated by the Civic Events Department: Convention Center, Coliseum, Auditorium, Paseo Pavilions, Paseo Grounds, Paseo Farmer's Market and RiverStage, as well as other locations, as required. Work any event hosted at these venues. Assist in the set-up of sound shell, staging, tables and chairs. Assist technicians with lighting, sound, stage props and scenery. Duties include mopping, sweeping, and overall general clean-up of all facilities, before, during and after events. Duties involve lifting, climbing both fixed and portable ladders, and cleaning stage equipment. Assist event organizers and attendees in a responsive, professional and customer-friendly manner. Minimal supervision of volunteers, part-time, temporary and seasonal staff. Assist in the maintenance of facilities, per the directions of the Civic Events Director, Assistant Director and/or any supervisor. Perform other duties as required. Hours: As needed, mostly nights and weekends.
MINIMUM STANDARDS & ESENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Candidate must be physically able to work in extreme weather. Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must also possess the ability to operate a variety of equipment including, but not limited to, telephone, computerized ticketing system, reproduction, sound, lighting, audio/visual equipment, HVAC, fork lift, pickup truck with trailer, standard office and other equipment. Must possess good communications and public relations skills. Previous experience working events preferred. Reliable transportation required or must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
