The Data Center Engineer III / IV is a senior implementation and support engineer position that provides advanced data center technology consulting, implementation and support. In an effort to meet the business needs of customers, this position interfaces with internal service delivery personnel to implement solutions using various technologies within the data center. The Data Center Engineer III / IV maintains expert-level knowledge of technologies within specific functional areas, along with required certifications, and fulfills a “trusted advisor” role among our customers on technical matters. It is important for the incumbent in this position to continually build their knowledge base and grow professionally within areas of specialization, as well as building new areas of expertise. This role is also responsible for quality assurance metrics, both internally and externally.

Note: This position may be hired at the Data Center Engineer III or IV level given the skills and experience of the candidate and business needs.

Responsibilities
Provide senior leadership in the installation, configuration and implementation of client data center solutions to OneNeck standards. Create customer and internal procedures for IT installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Effectively consult with customers on IT strategy, technology solutions, and improvements to their IT infrastructure using solutions. Mentor internal staff and train customers in areas of expertise. Create presentations and effectively present OneNeck solution proposals to technical and executive audiences.
Uphold documentation standards and maintain customer documentation.
Visit vendors, attend conferences or training, and study technical journals to keep up with changes in technology and advance OneNeck vendor relationships.
Provide technical support for customers and internal IT and perform occasional on-call duties for customer and internal issue escalation.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Data Center Engineer III:
Bachelor degree -OR- 4+ years relevant professional experience.
5+ years complex data center systems management and administration, including at least 2+ years data center deployment experience, specifically around virtualization, storage, hyperconvergance and networking technologies (Cisco, Dell/EMC, HPE, NetApp, VMware, and Hyper-V).
Valid driver’s license, insurance and access to reliable transportation.
Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.

Data Center Engineer IV:
Bachelor degree -OR- 4+ years relevant professional experience.
7+ years complex data center systems management and administration, including at least 4+ years data center deployment experience, specifically around virtualization, storage, hyperconvergance and networking technologies (Cisco, Dell/EMC, HPE, NetApp, VMware, and Hyper-V).
Valid driver’s license, insurance and access to reliable transportation.
Availability to consult, assist and/or perform after-hours support and participate in on-call rotations.
Experience mentoring internal staff and training customers in areas of expertise

Other Qualifications:
Dell/EMC storage experience a plus, particularly in the area of Isilon
Microsoft experience in one or more of the following areas a plus: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, O365, SCCM or Azure
Linux/Unix experience a plus
Desktop virtualization (VDI) experience a plus
Experience building relationships with both customers and manufacturers
Manufacturer and industry based certifications a huge plus, or the ability to quickly attain said certifications
Design and perform day-to-day administration of complex data center solutions, including some or all of the following technologies:
x86 based computer systems, including blade systems and rack mount style servers (preferably Cisco UCS and HPE Blade systems)
Server and application virtualization, specifically VMware but additional manufacturers strongly desired
Experience in deploying and/or a high degree of experience in managing and maintaining storage arrays and/or Storage Array Networks (preferably Dell/EMC, HPE, NetApp, and Cisco MDS, and Brocade/McData)
Data center networking products specifically Cisco Nexus Edge/Access products
Experience deploying and/or managing data center backup, recovery, and archival systems (preferably Dell/EMC Data Domain and Avamar, HPE Data Protector and StoreOnce, Commvault, Veeam, Zerto and related technologies)
Ability to effectively communicate technical problems and solutions to technical and non-technical individuals
Ability to continually develop and strengthen relationships with colleagues and customers
Demonstrated experience with solutions consulting or a strong desire to quickly become a valued consultant to internal and external customers
