Summary:
The Facilities Engineering Manager is responsible for maintaining the North Creek Manufacturing Facility. The position reports to the Director of Engineering Services while providing direct supervision to the Engineering staff maintaining the facility. Functional responsibilities include planning and implementation of corporate facility strategic direction, maintenance of the facility, support of design/construction activities, and preparation and management of expense budgets. The Engineering Manager will work closely with the Canyon Park Engineering Team, other Facilities Groups, other cross-functional Operations teams, the Manager of Manufacturing, and the Quality department to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policy.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for short-term and long-term strategic planning, scheduling and organizing the maintenance, operation and repair as needed to maintain the Facility, equipment and systems in an efficient and collaborative manner
Responsible for support of the planning, design, construction and coordination for construction projects within the facilities
Create safety plans for critical system maintenance and shutdowns by interfacing closely with EH&S to help assure safe work environment and practices
Coordination with EH&S regarding insurance audits/inspections
Evaluates new and existing equipment and systems for proper maintenance plans and requirements, and implements the process to enact the required program
Reports to and works with the Director of Engineering to ensure current training and readiness of staff and facility for compliance inspections
Partners with Quality Assurance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Prepare department budget for reporting and approval
Manage and achieve annual budget targets and implements timely actions as necessary
Oversee and fully comply with City of Bothell, building owner, insurance, fire protection, elevator, pressure vessel inspections and other code and regulatory requirements
Develop and manage maintenance program in accordance with written SOP’s and job plans
Regularly evaluates current maintenance programs and procedures evaluating current actions for effectiveness and enacts appropriate changes as necessary to optimize maintenance activities
Maintain all documentation pertaining to the installation, maintenance, and repair of systems and equipment
Works closely with the Purchasing Team to negotiate and manage contracts for equipment installation, and repair and maintenance of the facility
Responsible for implementing and maintaining sustainable operations including energy conservation, water conservation, waste reduction, etc.
Manage the operation and maintenance of Plant and Process Utilities
Develops and publishes KPIs to aid in the evaluation of maintenance effectiveness
Review and approve monthly utility expenses
Work with Canyon Park Engineering staff as needed to facilitate cross training redundancy of coverage, and standardization of procedures
May be required to work outside of core business hours upon short notice
Fully comply with and hold staff accountable to all company health and safety procedures and practices
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
10+ years experience in all areas of facilities
5+ years experience in personnel management, administrative and maintenance management in a FDA regulated environment
Extensive knowledge of laboratory and building design, good construction and engineering practices
Well-developed knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), EMEA Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), OSHA and WISHA compliance
Demonstrated experience in maintenance of clean utilities (Purified Water, WFI, Clean Steam, Clean Gases, HVAC, etc.) in a regulated environment
Demonstrated skills in building trades
Highly developed experience in writing maintenance job plans and SOPs
Ability to perform in-depth analysis of complex systems and to provide detailed reports of conclusions and recommendations
Knowledge of Siemens Building Automation System, Maximo Enterprise Asset Management System and Data Acquisition System

Education:
B.S. degree in engineering, instrumentation, related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
