Job Description
We are seeking a PRN Nurse to join our team! You will be required to travel mainly between our Oklahoma City and Bethany locations with an occasional shift possible at our Tulsa location. This position is a PRN position utilized to help cover vacations, time off and call ins. This is a day shift position Monday-Friday, no weekends, no holidays. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of assigned patients.
Responsibilities:
- Administer nursing care to patients
- Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
- Communicate with collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
- Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
- Maintain accurate patient medical records
- Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
- Administer medications during program hours and obtain informed consent from families for new medications
- Complete Admission Assessments
- Monitor and Document therapeutic holds/restraints
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in mental health is preferred but not required
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Job Summary
Positive Changes is a partial hospitalization behavioral treatment program for children and adolescents that started in 2005. Positive Changes has two metro facilities which are located in Oklahoma City and Bethany, and a third facility is in Tulsa. The patients receive individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, daily rehab services from case managers, and school curriculum from the Public Schools during the school year. The facility follows the Public School calendar for each district. The patients also meet with a psychiatric physician 2-4 times per month for medication management. Positive Changes operates five days per week, Monday through Friday, except for the six major holidays. During the school year, the patients attend the program from approximately from 8:00am- 3:00pm. The patients receive half a day of rehab services and half a day of school curriculum. During the summer, the patients attend the program from approximately 8:30am-2:00pm where they receive rehab services.
