The Store Planner is responsible for the design and presentation of supermarket store layouts, building elements, schematic phase fixture plans for new stores, expansions and remodels of existing stores, acquisitions, special projects, and program rollouts for client store locations throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states. This position requires utilizing and adapting data, analytics, and architectural standards as provided by the client, and the ability to adapt and implement store specific standards and modules to provide creative solutions to prototypes and non-standard stores. Responsible for time management and for completing tasks in a timely manner per established schedules.

Framework & Guidelines: Responsible for design, layout and architectural resolution of any unforeseen conditions that may arise in the field during demolition and construction. Responsible for working within defined time parameters to complete tasks on a schedule aligned with the client’s project timeline.
Degree of Latitude: Determines best architectural solutions for entire store; layout, fixtures, and equipment, back of house, front of store, customer service areas.
Interactions and relationships: Collaborates with client’s project development team from various departments (e.g. Store Planning, Format & Innovation, Construction, Décor & Signage, Real Estate, Equipment Purchasing) and client’s Architectural and Engineering consultants. Present concept and completed plans to project development team store operations leadership teams.

Fixture Plans
Create and propose fixture plans for Remodels, New Stores, Expansions, Acquisitions and Special Projects utilizing data and analytics as provided by the supermarket client.
Project Management
Participate as a member of the project development team with primary responsibility for all aspects of the fixture planning process, from concept to approval, including as the liaison to client’s Construction and Merchandising Services departments.
Problem Resolution
Resolve and propose cost-effective solutions for design and construction clarifications and change requests.
AutoCAD Maintenance
Maintain AutoCAD drawing standards, drawing integrity & technical operating practices in accordance with client practices as set forth by the Director of Store Development and Managers of Store Planning

Bachelor’s Degree: Architecture, Commercial planning, Architectural Engineering preferred.
5 – 7 years of related experience
Travel up to 10%
Supermarket Store Planner - ideal but not required
Familiarity with construction documents (Architectural, Structural, Décor, Lighting)
Knowledge of Architecture and Engineering
