Reports To: Events Manager

We promote and facilitate the success of our membership of over 750 businesses. Position Overview: The Events Associate assists the Events Manager with the Chamber’s 100+ events per year. Events include monthly networking events, educational forums and seminars, and Signature Events including the Annual Business Gala, Best Business Awards, Volunteer Arlington Day, and many more.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with Chamber’s Signature Events
  • Coordinating award nominations for applicable programs
  • Soliciting, collecting and preparing silent auction donations for the Annual Business Gala
  • Responsible for creating and ordering event sponsor signs or programs
  • Ordering awards, trophies or T-shirts * Assisting with coordinating monthly networking events
  • Preparing email lists for upcoming events and sending emails
  • Supports scheduling and topic booking for monthly Small Business Roundtable * Assisting in the coordination of educational forums and seminars
  • Helping to ensure event materials are prepared in advance of every program * Supporting registrations, updating all event calendars, submitting calendar items to community calendars
  • Drafting thank you notes after every event to both hosts and sponsors
  • Helping to promote Chamber events and programs
  • Assisting with Chamber onsite event coverage as needed
  • Other administrative tasks and projects, as assigned

What we are looking for:

A “people person” comfortable interacting on a professional level with members of the business community. Excellent oral and written communications skills and a keen attention to detail required. The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a collaborative team environment and enjoys being in a customer service role.

The ideal candidate will be able to simultaneously execute and complete multiple projects with competing deadlines. Related work experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel required.
