Job Summary

Develop Responsible for recruitment, participation, and maintenance of program membership for Boys & Girls Club. and implement core of programs that meet or exceed Commitment to Quality Standards. Develop leadership within program participants and volunteers. Responsible for Financial accountability and fiscal responsibility of programs and record keeping and reporting. Responsible for assisting Unit Director/Executive Director with facility management. Collaborate with other agencies, non-profits, and government entities in order to enlist community resources that will enhance programs. Comply with all Salvation Army standards, policies, and procedures. Responsible for presenting a positive image of The Salvation Army and its programs to the community, to funding sources, and to other agencies within the area at all times.

Knowledge and Skills

Have the ability to write and speak the English language. Keyboarding and typing skills ability.

Have knowledge of standard boys and girls clubs operating procedures and practices

Have knowledge in youth development and youth issues

Have good telephone communication ability.

Have a genuine interest and ability to relate with youth and earn their respect

Have the ability to do public speaking

Have basic teaching fundamentals

Have an understanding of community life and the forces that influence youth

Ability to motivate and encourage program participants

Ability to interpret and implement program to meet goals and objectives

Ability to organize work priorities.

Ability to meet job attendance requirements as designated.

Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in education preferred. Will consider bachelors in related field or combination of education and experience with a minimum of one-year experience in developmental programming for youth required. Experience in non-profit field preferred. Experience in Salvation Army programming preferred.

.Licenses and Certifications

Must possess valid driver’s license with minimum of five years good driving record. MVR must be provided as proof of clean record.

Bilingual Preferred

CDL Required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Position requires indoor Salvation Army club facilities, indoor and outdoor recreation room/fields, camp, or other community facilities. The Salvation Army strives to have an environment that is free from the presence or use of alcohol, drugs or other controlled substances. All Salvation Army facilities and vehicles provide a smoke free environment. Position may include stressful situations.
