DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs for the Force Support Squadron. Under the direction of the supervisor, assists in determining marketing techniques and strategies to increase efficiency, enhance participation and increase financial income to Force Support activities. Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research. Develops, monitors, and analyzes applicable statistical data such as patronage, financial trends, customer surveys and suggestions to evaluate program effectiveness and applicability to strategic goals and plan improvements. Using standard industry practice, computer software, and/or instruments specifically developed for use within the Force Support, adapts or modifies research techniques for local purposes. Conducts qualitative and quantitative market research through focus groups or administering surveys, collecting data, tabulating and analyzing results. Keeps the supervisor informed of consumer trends and their application to the activities. Makes recommendations to the supervisor in program modifications and enhancements. Assist in developing training programs for Force Support employees in areas related to marketing such as the marketing process, advertising strategies, customer relations, social media, and other media techniques.

Generate, edit, publish and share content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action across social media channels. Monitors and maintains website as required. Prepares and presents briefings to base functions such as newcomer’s orientation, Commander's calls, etc. Composes, writes, and edits various new articles, feature stories, press releases, and scrips. Develops or assist by creative effort layout, design, selection of photos, and artwork for marketing projects to include fulfilling orders for print shop customers. Obtains information on upcoming events, special programs and offers from activity managers. Coordinates with activity managers and marketing to develop annual activity program calendars, marketing and strategic plans. Assists in developing communication strategies and advertising campaigns by determining the most effective and efficient method of reaching the target market. Makes recommendations to activity managers on the design of effective advertising by considering the media mix necessary to reach them. Assists in conducting media relations with on and off base media in conjunction with the Public Affairs Office.

Attends major Force Support Squadron events and provides constructive marketing feedback to the activity manager. Provides or arranges for photographic support for Force Support programs. Produces, edits and distributes media content as required for Force Support facilities which may include photographs, graphics, and audio. Operates production equipment including copier, printer, laminator, paper cutter, folding machine, and photography equipment. Prepares and issues change from funds as required. Operates a motor vehicle. May be required to perform supervisory duties. Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Marketing or related field. Must have responsible experience which provides a general knowledge of marketing/advertising principles and practices. Experience must demonstrate the ability to perform research, select, arrange and compose material and maintain well-organized files. In addition, must have specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising copy and artwork using desk top publishing software, word processing and other software. Experience using

InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop highly desired. Experience working with WordPress highly desired. Must have experience developing, conducting and analyzing market research information. Must have ability to read, write and speak English. May be required to work uncommon work schedule, including nights and weekends as needed; must be flexible with schedule. Must possess skill in dealing with customers and public. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
